✔️ Uses of Purisal 1.25

• Asthma
• Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)

✔️ Dosage

• Nebuliser Solution:
  • Children (6 months - 11 years): 0.31 mg administered three times daily by nebulization. Do not exceed 0.63 mg three times a day.
  • Adults and Adolescents (12 years and older): Start with 0.63 mg, three to four times daily, every 6 to 8 hours by nebulization.
  • For severe asthma cases, 1.25 mg three times a day may be used.
• Inhaler:
  • Take 1-2 puffs up to 4 times daily, not exceeding 8 puffs in 24 hours. If usage exceeds 3-4 times a week, asthma may not be adequately controlled.
  • To prevent allergy or exercise-induced asthma, take 2 puffs 15 minutes before exposure or exercise.

✔️ Administration

• Inhaler:
  1. Remove the cap and shake the inhaler vigorously (6 times).
  2. If new or unused for over a week, release one puff into the air to ensure it works.
  3. Exhale fully and hold the inhaler upright.
  4. Place the mouthpiece between your teeth and close your lips.
  5. Inhale deeply while pressing down on the canister to release the medication.
  6. Hold your breath for 10 seconds, then exhale.
  7. If multiple inhalations are required, wait 1 minute between puffs and repeat the steps.
  8. After use, rinse your mouth with water and replace the cap.

Cleaning Instructions for Inhaler:

• Clean once a week by removing the canister and rinsing the actuator and cap with warm water (do not submerge the canister in water). Dry thoroughly before reassembling.

✔️ Overdose Effects

• Overdose symptoms may include excessive β-adrenergic stimulation (e.g., increased heart rate, tremors). Treatment involves discontinuing the medication and managing symptoms. A cardioselective beta-blocker may be used if necessary.

✔️ Side Effects

• Serious side effects may include hypokalemia, palpitations, muscle tremors, muscle cramps, nervousness, headache, dizziness, fatigue, and sleeplessness.

✔️ Interactions

• Sympathomimetic Aerosols and Epinephrine: Use with caution to avoid cardiovascular effects.
• Beta-blockers: May block the effects of Levosalbutamol and cause bronchospasm.
• Diuretics: May worsen ECG changes or hypokalemia when used with beta-agonists.
• Digoxin: Carefully monitor serum levels in patients taking both digoxin and Levosalbutamol.
• MAOIs and Tricyclic Antidepressants: Use with caution or within 2 weeks of discontinuation.

✔️ Contraindications:

Levosalbutamol is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to Levosalbutamol or any of its components.

✔️ Pregnancy & Lactation

• Pregnancy: Use only if the potential benefit justifies the risk to the fetus.
• Lactation: Caution is advised, as it is unknown if Levosalbutamol is excreted in human milk.

✔️ Precautions & Warnings

• Use with caution in patients with cardiovascular disorders, hypertension, arrhythmias, hyperthyroidism, diabetes, or those unusually responsive to sympathomimetic amines.
• Not for injection.

• Store below 25°C. Protect from light. Do not refrigerate.
