How does Epnil 0.5mg Tablet work?

Epnil 0.5mg Tablet contains a single active ingredient, clonazepam, which is a benzodiazepine medication. Clonazepam acts as a depressant and tranquilizer in the central nervous system. It works by enhancing the activity of GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid), a neurotransmitter in the brain. This action helps to reduce abnormal or excessive nerve cell activity in the brain, leading to antiepileptic effects, which can help in reducing seizures, as well as sedative effects. Importantly, clonazepam does not directly affect the levels of GABA in the brain.

• For adults with panic disorder, the initial dose is 0.25 mg in two divided doses, increasing to 1 mg/day.

Interaction

Contraindications
