Description:

Clovate N Ointment is a member of the class of drugs known as steroids. It is used to treat a variety of skin disorders, including allergies, eczema, and dermatitis. It functions by lessening the skin's bloating, redness, and itching while also halting additional aggravation.

Clovate N Ointment should only be used externally and only as directed by your doctor. With clean and dry hands, apply a thin coating of the medication just to the afflicted regions of the skin. Wash your hands before and after applying the medication. Rinse your eyes, nose, mouth, and vagina with water if it goes into them. It may take many days to weeks for your symptoms to improve, but you should continue to use this medication on a regular basis.

To guarantee that the drug works well, the course of therapy should be finished. If your situation does not improve or worsens, consult your doctor. Although this medication is generally safe, it may produce burning, irritation, itching, and redness at the application site. These side effects are generally minor and temporary. Serious negative effects are uncommon. If you have an allergic response, you should see a doctor. (rashes, itching, swelling, shortness of breath, etc.). Before using this medication, inform your doctor if you are currently taking or have recently taken any other medications for the same or different disorders. Pregnant and nursing women should use this medication with care and caution.

If you have a known allergy to the medication, you must stop using it and notify your doctor. Do not touch or scrape the affected skin regions during therapy as this may aggravate or spread the illness.

SIde Effects of Clovate N Ointment

Long-term widespread application or widespread treatment, similar to other topical corticosteroids, may result in sufficient systemic absorption and the symptoms of hypercortisolism. If an occlusive dressing is used, infants and young children are more likely to experience this effect. In particular, when the use of occlusive dressings or skin folds is impacted, intensive and prolonged treatment with highly active corticosteroid preparations can result in local atrophic changes in the skin, such as thinning, stretch marks, and superficial vasodilation. Topical steroids have reportedly been linked to hirsutism and changes in pigmentation.

How to use Clovate N Ointment
  • Clovate N Ointment is for external use only.
  • Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor.
  • Check the label for directions before use.
  • Clean and dry the affected area and apply the cream.
  • Wash your hands after applying, unless your hands are the affected area.
Quick Suggestions
  • As directed by your doctor, Clovate N Ointment has to be applied in a thin layer to the afflicted region.
  • Never use this medication more frequently or for a longer period of time than recommended by your doctor.
  • Wash the afflicted area with soap and water and thoroughly dry it before applying each treatment.
  • Avoid getting it in your mouth, nose, or eyes. If you accidentally acquire it in these locations, rinse it with cold water.
  • Without a doctor's prescription, avoid covering the area being treated with airtight coverings like bandages since this might raise the chance of adverse effects.
  • If, after 2-4 weeks of therapy, the affected region of the skin does not improve, let your doctor know.
Indications of Clovate N 15 Ointment

This preparation is for Recalcitrant eczema treatment in short courses, Neurodermatoses, and when a secondary bacterial infection or fungal infection is present, suspected, or likely to occur in a case of psoriasis (aside from widespread plaque psoriasis).

Pharmacology

The topical anti-inflammatory effects of clobetasol propionate, a highly potent corticosteroid, are partially caused by vasoconstriction and decreased collagen formation.

Neomycin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic that inhibits protein synthesis by attaching to the ribosomal 30S and 50S subunits of sensitive bacteria. It also results in the misreading of the genetic information on the mRNA template.

Nystatin causes a change in the permeability of the cell wall and the leaking of cellular components by attaching to ergosterol in the fungus's cell membrane.

Adults & Elderly Dose of Clovate N Ointment

Topical/Cutaneous extreme inflammatory skin conditions Adult: as a cream or oil.

  • Apply a thin layer to the troubled area(s) once or twice daily until healing takes place. Not to be used without a doctor's supervision for more than 7 days.
Infant Dose of Clovate N Ointment

Topical/Cutaneous extreme inflammatory skin conditions 2 years old: as a Cream.

  • Apply a thin layer to the troubled area(s) once or twice daily until healing takes place. Not to be used without a doctor's supervision for more than 7 days.
Interaction of Clovate N 15 Ointment

After significant systemic absorption, neomycin sulfate can intensify and prolong the respiratory depression caused by neuromuscular blockers. Neomycin sulfate's systemic exposure is anticipated to be minimal when used as directed, and significant drug interactions are highly unlikely. There have been no reports of harmful interactions between nystatin and clobetasol propionate.

Contraindications

The drug is contraindicated in rosacea, acne vulgaris, and perioral dermatitis, primary skin viral infections (for example, herpes simplex, chickenpox), and those who are allergic to the preparation.

Pregnancy & Lactation

There is little data to prove the possible effects of topical neomycin on pregnancy and lactation. However, neomycin present in maternal blood can cross the placenta and, in theory, may pose risks of fetal toxicity, so its use during pregnancy and lactation is not recommended. The safety of clobetasol propionate in nursing mothers has not been established.

Precautions & Warnings

Long-term continuous topical treatment should be avoided as much as possible, especially in infants and children, because adrenal suppression is prone to occur even in the absence of occlusion. If applied to the eyelids, care must be taken to ensure that the preparation does not get into the eyes as it can cause glaucoma. If this medicine gets into your eyes, flush the affected eyes well with plenty of water.

Storage Conditions

Store below 25°C temperature. Do not freeze. Keep out of reach of children
