Bisoprolol belongs to the class of beta-blockers and is used to manage chest pain (angina), high blood pressure (hypertension), and irregular heartbeats (arrhythmia). Additionally, it aids in preventing migraines, heart attacks, and strokes, and treats symptoms caused by an overactive thyroid gland.
Consumption of alcohol should be avoided while taking Bisoprolol as it may make you dizzy.
Bisoren 5 is not recommended for use during pregnancy as it may harm your fetus. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant.
Bisoren 5 is not recommended for use while breastfeeding as not enough studies are done to understand its safety and efficiency in such conditions. Consult with your doctor if you are breastfeeding.
Bisoren 5 may cause blurred vision. In such cases, please avoid driving or operating machinery until you feel better.
Bisoprolol should be used with caution if you have kidney problems as this medicine is excreted by the liver and the kidneys. Consult your doctor before taking this medicine. Your doctor may suggest tests to monitor your kidney functions and recommend appropriate dose adjustments based on your condition.

Bisoren 5 reduces the contraction of your heart muscles and causes a decrease in heart rate. This makes your heart more efficient at pumping blood throughout the body, thus controlling your blood pressure.
Possible side effects include gastrointestinal disturbances, bradycardia, hypotension, headache, fatigue, sleep disturbances, dizziness, vertigo, thrombocytopenia, visual disturbances, and alopecia.
Hypertension (High Blood Pressure):
Angina (Chest Pain):
Bisoprolol hemifumarate, the most selective ß1 blocker, exhibits a high affinity for the ß1 receptor. By blocking the ß1 adrenergic receptor in the heart and vascular smooth muscle, it reduces heart rate, cardiac output, and arterial blood pressure. Unlike some non-ß1 selective ß-blockers, Bisoprolol does not impact lipid metabolism over long-term use.
Heart Failure: Initial 1.25 mg daily, increasing weekly to 2.5 mg, 3.75 mg, 5 mg, 7.5 mg, and finally 10 mg if tolerated.
Angina: Typically 10 mg daily (5 mg may suffice), with a maximum of 20 mg per day.
Hypertension: Initiate with 5 mg daily, considering 2.5 mg for some; adjust based on response, with a maximum of 10 mg daily.
Avoid combining Bisoprolol with other ß-blocking agents.
Do not use in cardiogenic shock, overt heart failure, second or third-degree A-V block, right ventricular failure due to pulmonary hypertension, and sinus bradycardia.
The safety of Bisoprolol during pregnancy is not established, and data is unavailable for lactation.
Regular monitoring of renal, hepatic, and hematopoietic function is advised during long-term use of Bisoprolol.
Store in a dry place, protected from light and heat, and keep out of children's reach.
