Aceta 500 mg acts as an analgesic (pain reliever) and antipyretic (fever reducer) with minimal anti-inflammatory effects. It works primarily in the central nervous system by inhibiting COX-1, COX-2, and COX-3 enzymes that produce prostaglandins, which are linked to pain and inflammation. Aceta is well tolerated and provides quick relief without the gastrointestinal side effects associated with aspirin.
Mild side effects may include blood-related issues (e.g., thrombocytopenia, neutropenia) and rare allergic reactions, such as skin rashes.
Symptoms of overdose include nausea, vomiting, pallor, and abdominal pain. Liver damage may become evident within 12-48 hours, with possible metabolic acidosis or hypoglycemia.
Note: Do not exceed more than 5 doses daily for a maximum of 5 days.
Aceta 500 mg may have reduced efficacy if taken with barbiturates, tricyclic antidepressants, or alcohol. Chronic use of anticonvulsants or oral contraceptives may reduce Aceta’s therapeutic levels.
Use cautiously in patients with liver or kidney issues. Monitor if taken with other liver-affecting medications.
Store in a dry, cool place away from heat and light. Keep out of reach of children.
