Indications of Fixal 30
Fixal 30 belongs to a class of medications known as antihistamines. It is used to treat allergies such as hay fever, conjunctivitis, and some skin reactions such as eczema, hives, and bite and sting reactions. Watery eyes, a runny nose, sneezing, and itching are also relieved. Fixal 30 should be taken first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. The dose may differ depending on the reason you are taking it. Take it exactly as directed by your doctor.
Pharmacology
Fexofenadine Hydrochloride is an antihistamine that inhibits H1 receptors in the peripheral nervous system. It is rapidly absorbed after oral administration and reaches maximum plasma concentration in 2-3 hours. It does not appear to cross the blood-brain barrier.

Interaction of Fixal 30
Fexofenadine Hydrochloride plasma concentration increased when combined with erythromycin or ketoconazole. Antacids containing aluminum and magnesium hydroxide reduce fexofenadine hydrochloride absorption.
Contraindications
Patients with known hypersensitivity to Fexofenadine Hydrochloride or any of its components should not use it.

Pregnancy & Lactation
Fexofenadine Hydrochloride is classified as Category C by the US Food and Drug Administration. As a result, unless the potential advantages to the other outweigh the potential hazards to the fetus, Fexofenadine Hydrochloride should be avoided during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
