Side Effects of Glucomet 750 XR 10pcs Tablet

• Common: Gastrointestinal issues (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, loss of appetite).
• Very rare: Hemolytic anemia, lactic acidosis, taste disturbances, encephalopathy, skin reactions.
• Peripheral neuropathy is reported in cases of vitamin B12 deficiency.

Indicatio of Glucomet 750 XR 10pcs Tablet

• Treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus in overweight patients when diet and exercise alone are insufficient.
• Can be used alone or with other oral antidiabetic drugs or insulin in adults.
• Suitable for children and adolescents (as young as ten years old).

Pharmacology

• Antihyperglycemic medication of the biguanide class.
• Reduces baseline and postprandial plasma glucose levels.
• Enhances insulin sensitivity, increasing peripheral glucose uptake and utilization.
• Does not cause hypoglycemia.
• Lowers hepatic glucose production and intestinal glucose absorption.

Dosage & Administration:

• Immediate-release tablet: Starting dose of 500 mg or 850 mg (adults) twice a day or once a day with meals. Can be increased gradually.
• Extended-release tablet: Starting dose of 500 mg (adults) once daily with the evening meal. Incremental increases up to a maximum of 2000 mg once daily or 1000 mg twice daily.

Interaction

• The risk of lactic acidosis increased with carbonic anhydrase inhibitors.
