How does Ciaton 10mg Tablet work?

Ciaton 10mg Tablet relaxes the smooth muscles by inhibiting Phosphodiesterase type-5. It results in an increase of cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP), which relaxes the smooth muscles and increases the flow of blood.

Side Effects of Ciaton 10mg Tablet

Common side effects include headache, dyspepsia, back discomfort, myalgia, nasal pharyngitis, and nasal congestion. Changes in color vision, sudden vision loss, hearing loss, Stevens-Johnson Syndrome, exfoliative dermatitis, angina, stroke, myocardial infarction, severe hypotension, and tachycardia are all unusual but possible complications.

Quick Suggestions:

• It is best to take it an hour before sexual intercourse. But, you can take it anytime between 30 minutes and 4 hours before sexual activity.
• Do not take it more than once a day.
• It may also be used for treating the urinary symptoms of an enlarged prostate gland (benign prostatic hyperplasia).
• It may cause dizziness or blurred vision. Do not drive or do anything requiring concentration until you know how it affects you.
• Avoid drinking alcohol as it can reduce your ability to get an erection and can make dizziness worse.
• Seek medical attention if the erection persists for more than 4 hours after sexual intercourse.
• Do not use Ciaton 10 if you have recently taken nitrates (medicines used in angina or chest pain), if you have had a heart attack in the past 3 months, or stroke or heart failure in the past 6 months.

Indications:

• Erectile Dysfunction (ED): ED, also known as impotence, is when a man cannot achieve or maintain an erection suitable for sexual intercourse. It can be caused by factors like reduced blood flow to the penis due to physical issues, injuries, or psychological conditions like anxiety and stress. Lifestyle factors such as obesity, smoking, and excessive alcohol consumption can also contribute to ED. Ciaton 10mg Tablet is used to treat ED by improving blood flow to the penis.
• Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH): BPH is a non-cancerous enlargement of the prostate gland, which can lead to urinary symptoms like difficulty urinating, weak urine flow, frequent urination, and loss of bladder control. Ciaton 10mg Tablet can help alleviate the urinary symptoms associated with BPH by relaxing the muscles around the prostate gland and the bladder neck, thus improving urine flow.

Ciaton 10mg Tablet is used to address these conditions by targeting specific physiological mechanisms, but it's crucial to use it under the guidance of a healthcare provider, as the dosage and duration of treatment may vary based on individual needs and health considerations.

Pharmacology

Tadalafil is a specific inhibitor of phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5). PDE5 inhibition raises cGMP levels in smooth muscle cells. Smooth muscle relaxation and increased blood flow into the corpus cavernosum are both caused by cGMP, resulting in penile erection. PDE5 is also found in the prostate and bladder wall smooth muscles. PDE5 inhibition raises cGMP levels, causing smooth muscle relaxation in the prostate and bladder. Smooth muscle relaxation may enhance blood flow to the urinary system and widen the bladder neck opening, resulting in better voiding.

Dosage & Administration of Ciaton 10mg Tablet

For Erectile Dysfunction (Use as Needed):

• The recommended starting dose for most patients is 10 mg of Tadalafil taken prior to anticipated sexual activity.
• Depending on individual efficacy and tolerability, the dose may be increased to 20 mg or decreased to 5 mg.
• The maximum recommended dosing frequency is once per day in most patients.
• Tadalafil should be taken from 30 minutes to 12 hours before sexual activity, and its effects may last up to 24 hours post-dose.

For Erectile Dysfunction (Once Daily Use):

• The recommended starting dose for once-daily use is 2.5 mg of Tadalafil.
• It should be taken at approximately the same time every day, without regard to the timing of sexual activity.
• The dose may be increased to 5 mg based on individual efficacy and tolerability.

For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH):

• For the treatment of BPH symptoms: A daily dose of 5 mg of Tadalafil is recommended.
• For patients with both BPH and erectile dysfunction: A daily dose of 5 mg is recommended, taken at approximately the same time each day without regard to sexual activity.
• When used in combination with finasteride for BPH, a dose of Tadalafil 5 mg plus finasteride 5 mg is prescribed daily for up to 26 weeks.

For Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension:

• The recommended daily dose for pulmonary arterial hypertension is 40 mg of Tadalafil.
• Dividing the dose for more frequent dosing is not recommended.

Special Considerations:

• In patients taking ritonavir, an initial dose of 20 mg of Tadalafil is recommended for more than one week and may be increased to 40 mg/day based on tolerability.
• Dosing adjustments are needed for patients with hepatic impairment (liver problems) and renal impairment (kidney problems), and these should be discussed with a healthcare provider.

Interaction

Isosorbide, Nitroglycerin, Alpha-adrenergic blockers, Antihypertensives, Alcohol, Antacids (magnesium hydroxide/aluminum hydroxide), Ketoconazole, Ritonavir, Erythromycin, Itraconazole, Grapefruit juice, other HIV protease inhibitors, Rifampin, Carbamazepine, Phenytoin, and Phenobarbital are examples

Contraindications

Nitrates (for example, Nitroglycerine and isosorbide) may augment the hypotensive effects of Nitrates. Tadalafil hypersensitivity reactions

Pregnancy & Lactation

Ciaton 10mg Tablet is not suitable for use in women.

Precautions & Warnings

Angina, renal impairment, hepatic impairment, and bleeding when taking Nitrates, Alpha Blockers, Alcohol, CYP3A4 Inhibitors (such as Ritonavir, Ketoconazole, and Itraconazole), or other PDE5 inhibitors should all be avoided.
