✔️ Composition:
- Coralcin Tablet: Calcium Carbonate USP 1250 mg (from coral), equivalent to 500 mg elemental Calcium + Vitamin D USP 200 IU
- Coralcin-DX Tablet: Calcium Carbonate USP 1500 mg (from coral), equivalent to 600 mg elemental Calcium + Vitamin D USP 400 IU
- Effervescent Tablet: Calcium Carbonate USP 1500 mg (from coral), equivalent to 600 mg elemental Calcium + Vitamin D3 400 IU (as Cholecalciferol)
✔️ Dosage & Administration:
- Take 1 tablet once or twice daily with sufficient water.
- Best absorbed when taken with food.
- For effervescent tablet: Dissolve in a glass of water, stir, and drink immediately.
✔️ Drug Interactions:
- Thiazide diuretics: Risk of hypercalcaemia – monitor calcium levels.
- Steroids: May reduce calcium absorption.
- Cholestyramine, paraffin oil: May reduce vitamin D absorption.
- Tetracyclines, bisphosphonates, fluoride: Separate dosing to avoid absorption interference.
- Cardiac glycosides (e.g., digoxin): Monitor ECG and calcium levels.
- Foods rich in oxalates/phytates (e.g., spinach, whole grains): Avoid within 2 hours of intake.
