Indications of Indever 10

Indever 10 belongs to a class of drugs known as beta-blockers. It reduces anxiety and relieves tremors. It is also used to treat migraines, heart-related chest pain (angina), and stomach bleeding caused by high blood pressure in the liver (portal hypertension). Indever 10 may also be used to treat high blood pressure and irregular heartbeats (arrhythmia). The dose will be determined by the condition being treated and how you respond to the medication. Always take it exactly as prescribed by your doctor.

Pharmacology

Indever 10 is a B-adrenergic receptor antagonist that is commonly used to treat hypertension and angina pectoris. Propranolol antagonizes catecholamines at B-adrenergic receptors, preventing the heart from contracting too quickly or too forcefully and lowering oxygen consumption in the heart.

Propranolol is absorbed almost entirely through the gastrointestinal tract, but some of it is processed by the liver as soon as it enters the portal circulation. The plasma concentration peaks 1 to 1.5 hours after oral treatment. The plasma half-life of propranolol is 3 to 6 hours. Propranolol metabolites are excreted in the urine.

Dosage and Administration of Indever 10

Adult (above 18 years):

• Hypertension: Start with 80 mg twice daily, then increase at weekly intervals to a maintenance dose of 160-320 mg daily.
• Angina pectoris: 40 mg 2-3 times daily at first, followed by a maintenance dose of 120-240 mg daily.
• Thyrotoxicosis: 10-40 mg, 3-4 times per day.
• Anxiety: 40 mg once daily, up to three times per day.
• Migraine prophylaxis: 40 mg 2-3 times daily at first, followed by a maintenance dose of 80-160 mg daily.
   

Hypertension in children (from birth to 18 years):

• 0.25-0.5 mg/kg 3 times daily, adjusted based on response.
• 1 month to 12 years: 0.25-1 mg/kg 3 times daily, with a maximum dose of 5 mg/kg daily in divided doses.
• Child 12-18 years: 80 mg twice daily at first, then 160-320 mg daily.

Indever 10 Interaction

Patients taking verapamil, salbutamol, Levosalbutamol, ergot alkaloids, lidocaine, or phenobarbital should be closely monitored during treatment.

Contraindications

Bronchospasm, cardiogenic shock, second or third-degree heart block, diabetes mellitus, and other conditions are examples.

Side Effects of Indever 10

• Cold extremities,
• assitude, nausea,
• dizziness,
• sleeplessness,
• paresthesia, and other symptoms have been reported.

Pregnancy & Lactation

Pregnancy category C should not be utilized by women who are pregnant. Human milk contains propranolol, which is eliminated. When administering propranolol to a breastfeeding mother, extreme caution is advised.

Precautions & Warnings

In cases of hepatic and renal impairment, pregnancy, and lactation, it should be used with caution.
