Ariscon combines two antacids—Calcium Carbonate and Sodium Bicarbonate—with Sodium Alginate.
It works through a primarily physical mechanism rather than systemic absorption. The antacids rapidly neutralize excess stomach acid, helping relieve heartburn and indigestion. Sodium alginate reacts with gastric acid to form a floating gel-like “raft” over the stomach contents. This protective barrier helps reduce the movement of acidic stomach contents into the esophagus and protects it from irritation caused by acid, pepsin, and bile.
