Flupentixol and Melitracen tablets contain a combination of flupentixol and melitracen, medicines with anxiolytic, antidepressant, and activating properties. This combination is used in the management of anxiety and depressive conditions, particularly when symptoms such as low mood, lack of motivation, and psychosomatic complaints occur together. This combination may interact with several medicines and substances.
Always inform your doctor about all prescription medicines, over-the-counter medicines, supplements, and herbal products you are taking.
This combination contains two medicines that work through complementary mechanisms:
Flupentixol is a thioxanthene neuroleptic that, at the low doses used in this combination, has anxiolytic and antidepressant effects.
Melitracen is a tricyclic antidepressant with activating properties. It helps improve mood and may reduce depressive symptoms.
Together, the two components provide antidepressant, anxiolytic, and activating effects.
After oral administration, peak blood concentrations of both flupentixol and melitracen are reached at approximately 4 hours. The biological half-life is approximately 35 hours for flupentixol and 19 hours for melitracen. Co-administration does not appear to significantly alter the pharmacokinetic characteristics of either component.
Take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
