Budison F 80 Inhaler

Budesonide + Formoterol Fumarate is a combination inhaler used for the long-term management of respiratory conditions, including:

• Asthma: Helps control wheezing, breathlessness, chest tightness, and airway inflammation.
• Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD): Helps improve breathing, control persistent symptoms, and reduce exacerbations in appropriate patients.
• Use the inhaler exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
• The dose and frequency depend on the patient's age, condition, inhaler strength, and formulation.
• Follow the instructions specific to your inhaler device.
• Rinse your mouth with water and spit it out after each use to reduce the risk of oral thrush and throat irritation.
• Do not stop treatment or change the dose without consulting your doctor.

Important: Some budesonide/formoterol inhalers can be prescribed for both maintenance and symptom relief, while others are intended for maintenance treatment only. Follow the prescribed treatment plan and do not assume every formulation can be used as a rescue inhaler.

Common side effects may include:

• Headache
• Throat irritation or cough
• Common cold-like symptoms
• Upper respiratory tract infections
• Hoarseness
• Oral candidiasis (thrush)

Less commonly, patients may experience tremors, palpitations, muscle cramps, or a rapid heartbeat.

Seek urgent medical attention for severe breathing difficulty immediately after inhalation, chest pain, a markedly irregular heartbeat, or symptoms of a serious allergic reaction.

This medicine should not be used in patients with known hypersensitivity to budesonide, formoterol, or any other ingredient in the formulation. It is not intended as the sole treatment for an acute severe asthma attack.

Use this medicine cautiously and inform your doctor if you have:

• Heart disease, high blood pressure, or an irregular heartbeat
• Diabetes or thyroid disorders
• Low blood potassium levels
• Seizure disorders
• Tuberculosis or other active respiratory infections
• Liver disease

Long-term use of inhaled corticosteroids may increase the risk of oral thrush and, in some patients, other corticosteroid-related effects. Regular medical review may be necessary.

Budesonide + Formoterol Fumarate may interact with:

• Strong CYP3A4 inhibitors: Such as ketoconazole and ritonavir, which may increase corticosteroid exposure.
• Beta-blockers: May reduce the bronchodilator effect or worsen bronchospasm.
• Diuretics: Certain diuretics may increase the risk of low potassium levels.
• MAO inhibitors and tricyclic antidepressants: May increase cardiovascular effects, including changes in heart rate.

Inform your doctor about all medicines and supplements you use.

Overdose

Excessive use may cause tremors, headache, palpitations, rapid heartbeat, or muscle cramps. Seek medical advice promptly if an overdose occurs or serious symptoms develop.

Missed Dose

Use the missed dose when remembered unless it is nearly time for the next scheduled dose. If it is nearly time, skip the missed dose and continue your regular schedule. Do not take extra inhalations to compensate for a missed dose.

Consult your doctor before using this medicine during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Your doctor will assess the benefits of controlling the respiratory condition against potential risks.
