Axon 2g IV Injection

Axon Injection contains ceftriaxone, a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections. It works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, thereby killing susceptible bacteria.

The dose depends on the type and severity of the infection, the patient's age and weight, and their clinical condition.

• Adults: Usually 1–2 g daily by intravenous (IV) or intramuscular (IM) injection. The maximum dose is generally 4 g per day for severe infections.
• Children aged 1 month or older: The dose is determined by body weight and the type of infection.
• Administration: Axon Injection must be prepared and administered by a qualified healthcare professional using the appropriate diluent and technique.

The treatment duration depends on the infection and the patient's response. Follow the prescribed dosage and duration.

Possible side effects include:

• Diarrhea, nausea and vomiting
• Skin rash, itching and hives
• Injection-site pain or inflammation
• Changes in liver enzyme levels
• Changes in blood cell counts
• Headache and dizziness

Seek immediate medical attention if signs of a severe allergic reaction occur, such as difficulty breathing or swelling of the face, lips or throat.

• Do not use Axon Injection if you have a known allergy to ceftriaxone or certain cephalosporin antibiotics.
• Inform your doctor about any history of serious antibiotic allergies, kidney or liver problems, or other medicines you are taking.
• Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding only under medical supervision.
• Ceftriaxone must not be mixed with calcium-containing IV solutions in newborns. Special precautions apply to neonates, premature infants and patients with certain medical conditions.
• Prolonged treatment may require regular blood tests.
• Antibiotics should only be used for bacterial infections and as prescribed by a registered physician.

Store the unopened vial below 30°C in a cool, dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of the reach of children.
