• Myopathy
• Rhabdomyolysis
• Elevated liver enzymes
• Abdominal discomfort

✔️ Dosage & Administration | Xerova EZ 10

• Dose range: 10/10 mg to 80/20 mg once daily
• Recommended starting dose: 10/10 mg or 20/10 mg once daily
• For patients requiring >55% LDL-C reduction: 40/10 mg once daily
• Can be taken at any time of day, with or without food
• Lipid levels should be assessed at least 2 weeks after initiation or dose adjustment.

Pediatric Use: Safety and efficacy not established

Geriatric Use: No dosage adjustment required

Homozygous Familial Hypercholesterolemia

• Recommended dose: 40/10 mg or 80/10 mg once daily
• Use as adjunct therapy to LDL apheresis or when other options are unavailable

Hepatic Impairment

• Contraindicated in patients with active liver disease or persistent unexplained elevations in liver enzymes.

Renal Impairment

• No dose adjustment required; however, patients should be monitored closely for muscle-related adverse effects.

✔️ Pregnancy & Lactation

Pregnancy Category X

Contraindicated during pregnancy due to potential fetal harm

Lipid-lowering therapy provides no benefit during pregnancy

Breastfeeding is not recommended as statins may pass into breast milk

✔️ Contraindications

• Active liver disease
• Persistent unexplained elevations in hepatic transaminases
• Hypersensitivity to any component of the formulation

✔️ Drug Interactions

• Increased risk of myopathy with fibrates, high-dose niacin, cyclosporine, and strong CYP3A4 inhibitors
• Avoid co-administration with cyclosporine and gemfibrozil
• Use caution with niacin, colchicine, digoxin, warfarin, and oral contraceptives
• INR monitoring is recommended when used with warfarin

✔️ Precautions & Warnings

• Monitor for muscle symptoms and discontinue if myopathy or rhabdomyolysis is suspected
• Liver function tests should be performed before treatment and periodically thereafter
• Exercise caution when used with drugs affecting steroid hormone synthesis
