✔️ Composition

• 500 mg & 200 IU: Each film-coated tablet contains Calcium Carbonate BP (eggshell source) 1250 mg, equivalent to 500 mg of elemental Calcium, and Cholecalciferol (Vitamin D3) BP 200 IU.
• 600 mg & 400 IU: Each film-coated tablet contains Calcium Carbonate BP (eggshell source) 1500 mg, equivalent to 600 mg of elemental Calcium, and Cholecalciferol (Vitamin D3) BP 400 IU.

✔️ Mode of Action

Calcium carbonate neutralizes gastric acid rapidly and effectively. However, it may stimulate calcium-dependent processes, leading to gastric and hydrochloric acid secretion. Prolonged high doses may cause hypercalcemia, alkalosis, and milk-alkali syndrome.

✔️ Pharmacology

Calcium is essential for the normal functioning of bones, nerves, muscles, and other vital organs. Vitamin D3 enhances the body's absorption of calcium. Adequate levels of both calcium and vitamin D3 are crucial for maintaining strong bones and healthy muscles.

✔️ Adult Dosage

• Hyperacidity: Take 1-2 tablets as needed, up to a maximum of 16 tablets per day. Tablets may be sucked or chewed.
• Hyperphosphatemia in Chronic Renal Failure: The initial dose is 2.5 g/day, up to 17 g/day in divided doses.

✔️ Renal Dosage

• Renal Impairment: For patients with a creatinine clearance (CrCl) of less than 25 ml/min, dosage adjustments may be necessary based on serum calcium levels.

✔️ Administration

May be taken with or without food; for better absorption, take it with meals. Avoid taking large amounts of fiber-rich food.

✔️ Use in Children and Adolescents:

Should be directed by a physician.

✔️ Overdose Effects

• Symptoms may include nausea, vomiting, dry mouth, loss of appetite, metallic taste, diarrhea, weakness, headache, irritability, or dizziness.

✔️ Interactions

• With Medicine: Potential interactions with digoxin, antacids containing calcium, aluminum, or magnesium, other calcium supplements, calcitriol, tetracycline, doxycycline, minocycline, or oxytetracycline.
• With Food: Certain foods like spinach and milk may reduce the intestinal absorption of calcium.
