Calcium + Vitamin D3 is used to prevent and manage calcium and vitamin D deficiencies and to support overall bone health. Its key uses include:

Drug–Drug Interactions:
Calcium + Vitamin D3 may interact with certain medications, including antiretroviral agents (such as cabotegravir and dolutegravir), anticancer drugs (including erdafitinib, gefitinib, and infigratinib), medications used in the treatment of peptic ulcers (such as sucralfate), and drugs prescribed for the management of symptomatic anemia (for example, vadadustat). Concomitant use may alter the absorption or effectiveness of these medicines, and appropriate spacing or medical supervision may be required.

Drug–Food Interactions:
Excessive intake of caffeine, carbonated soft drinks, and alcohol should be avoided or minimized, as these substances may reduce calcium absorption and diminish the effectiveness of the supplement.

Drug–Disease Interactions:
Calcium + Vitamin D3 should be used with caution in patients with certain medical conditions, including cardiovascular disorders, phosphate calcification disorders (elevated serum phosphate levels), malabsorption syndromes, renal impairment, hepatobiliary dysfunction, sarcoidosis, electrolyte imbalances, and hypercalcemia (abnormally high blood calcium levels). Medical supervision is recommended when using this supplement in such conditions.

• Avoid taking Calcium+vitamin D3 if you are allergic to it.
• It may contain sugar or aspartame. Hence, caution should be taken in diabetes and phenylketonuria (increased levels of an amino acid called phenylalanine).
• Inform your doctor if you have any history of hypercalcemia (increased calcium levels in the body), kidney disease, liver disease, electrolyte imbalance, heart disease, kidney stones, and hypervitaminosis D (having too much vitamin D) before taking Calcium+vitamin D3.
