✔️ How does Tinabil 20 work?

Tinabil 20 contains Bilastine, a selective H1 receptor antagonist. It blocks the effects of histamine, a chemical responsible for causing allergic symptoms like itching, swelling, and rashes.

✔️ Side Effects of Tinabil 20

The most common side effects reported include:

• Headache
• Dizziness
• Drowsiness
• Fatigue
  These effects occur at a similar rate as placebo in clinical trials.

✔️ Overdose Effects: Tinabil 20

In clinical studies, doses up to 10–11 times the recommended amount (220 mg single dose or 200 mg daily for 7 days) caused mild side effects such as dizziness, headache, and nausea. Serious adverse events or significant QTc prolongation were not observed.

✔️ Dosage & Administration: Tinabil 20

Adults and Adolescents (12 years and older):

• Dose: 20 mg once daily for relief from allergic rhinitis, urticaria, and allergic rhino-conjunctivitis.
• Maximum Dose: 20 mg per day.
• Take the tablet with water on an empty stomach for optimal effectiveness. If a dose is missed, take the next scheduled dose. Avoid doubling the dose.

Children (6–11 years):

• Dose: 10 mg mouth-dissolving tablet once daily.
• The tablet can be placed in the mouth to dissolve quickly or dispersed in a teaspoon of water before swallowing.
• Maximum Dose: 10 mg per day.

Children (2–5 years):

• Dose: 4 ml of suspension once daily.
  For all age groups, follow the physician's instructions carefully.

✔️ Interaction

• Drug interactions: Combining Tinabil with ketoconazole, erythromycin, cyclosporine, or diltiazem may increase Tinabil levels, but without significant safety concerns.
• Alcohol: The psychomotor effects of Tinabil 20 mg are similar to alcohol and placebo.
• Lorazepam: Co-administration of Tinabil (20 mg) and lorazepam (3 mg) for 8 days does not enhance CNS depressant effects.

✔️ Contraindications

Do not use Tinabil if you are allergic to Bilastine or any of its components.

✔️ Pregnancy & Lactation

• Limited data are available on the use of Bilastine during pregnancy. Animal studies show no direct harm, but it is best to avoid Bilastine as a precaution during pregnancy.
• It is unknown whether Bilastine passes into breast milk. A healthcare provider should weigh the benefits of breastfeeding against the necessity of the medication for the mother.

• Tinabil 20 mg generally does not impair driving ability, but in rare cases, drowsiness may occur.
• Older adults (≥65 years) show similar safety and efficacy as younger patients.
• No dosage adjustment is required for patients with renal or hepatic impairment, as Bilastine is not metabolized in the liver.
• Tinabil should not be used in children under 2 years of age due to insufficient safety data.
