Taflopres 0.0015%+0.5% Ophthalmic Solution 3ml

Taflopres ophthalmic solution is used to reduce elevated intraocular pressure (IOP) in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. Lowering eye pressure helps reduce the risk of glaucoma-related damage to the optic nerve.

Instil one drop into the affected eye once daily in the evening, or as directed by an ophthalmologist.

Follow the prescribed dosing schedule. Do not exceed the recommended frequency of administration.

Specific interaction studies have not been conducted for this combination. Inform your doctor about all medicines you are using, particularly other eye drops, beta-blockers, and medicines that affect heart rate or blood pressure.

Taflopres is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to tafluprost, timolol, or any other ingredient in the formulation.

The most frequently reported treatment-related adverse effect is eye redness (ocular hyperemia).

Other possible side effects include:

• Eye irritation
• Blurred vision

Consult an ophthalmologist if side effects persist, worsen, or interfere with daily activities.

Pregnancy: Adequate, well-controlled studies in pregnant women are lacking. Taflopres should be used during pregnancy only when the potential benefits justify the possible risks to the fetus, as determined by a healthcare professional.

Breastfeeding: It is not known whether tafluprost, timolol, or their metabolites pass into human breast milk. Caution is advised when prescribing this medicine to breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor before use.

• Iris and Eyelid Pigmentation: Tafluprost may gradually increase pigmentation of the iris, eyelid skin, and surrounding tissues. Iris colour changes may be permanent.
• Eyelash Changes: The medicine may gradually increase eyelash length, thickness, pigmentation, and number. Changes may also occur in fine hairs around the treated eye.
• Intraocular Inflammation: Use with caution in patients with active inflammation inside the eye, such as iritis or uveitis.
• Macular Edema: Macular edema, including cystoid macular edema, has been reported with prostaglandin analogue treatment. Patients with relevant risk factors should be monitored appropriately.
• Contact Lenses: If the product contains a preservative that may be absorbed by soft contact lenses, remove lenses before applying the drops and follow the product leaflet regarding when to reinsert them.
• Children: Use in paediatric patients is not recommended unless specifically advised by an ophthalmologist, owing to limited safety information and concerns about pigmentation changes with prolonged use.
• Older Adults: No significant overall differences in safety or effectiveness have been observed between elderly patients and other adult patients.

Store in a cool, dry place, protected from light. Keep out of reach of children. Follow the manufacturer's instructions regarding storage after opening.
