Nesudil contains netarsudil, a Rho kinase inhibitor. It helps lower intraocular pressure by improving fluid drainage through the trabecular meshwork and Schlemm’s canal. It also reduces episcleral venous pressure, contributing to the reduction of intraocular pressure.

Nesudil ophthalmic solution is used to reduce elevated intraocular pressure (IOP) in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. Lowering eye pressure helps reduce the risk of optic nerve damage associated with these conditions.
The recommended dose is one drop in the affected eye(s) once daily in the evening, or as directed by an ophthalmologist.
If using other topical eye medicines, administer them at least 5 minutes apart.
Common side effects may include:
- For ophthalmic use only; do not swallow or inject.
- Avoid touching the dropper tip to the eye, fingers, or any other surface to prevent contamination.
- Remove contact lenses before using the drops. They may generally be reinserted after 15 minutes.
- Use only as prescribed by an ophthalmologist. Do not stop treatment without medical advice.
Nesudil is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to netarsudil or any other component of the formulation.
- Pregnancy: Adequate, well-controlled studies in pregnant women are not available. Although systemic exposure following eye-drop administration is low, use during pregnancy should be discussed with a healthcare professional.
- Breastfeeding: It is not known whether netarsudil passes into human breast milk or how it may affect a breastfed infant or milk production. Consult a healthcare professional before use.
