Psyllium Husk is a mild laxative containing 80% soluble fiber. Its main chemical ingredient, mucilage, is beneficial in chronic constipation, piles or hemorrhoids, and colon cancer. It also has soothing effects on the gastric and intestinal mucosa, making it effective in gastric irritation and ulceration. Psyllium also lowers serum cholesterol levels (LDL) and reduces blood glucose, making it suitable for obese and diabetic patients.
Psyllium Husk is indicated for various conditions including constipation, raised levels of cholesterol, hemorrhoids or piles, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and reduced blood glucose levels. It also provides easy bowel movement with smooth stool, making it desirable in patients with anal fissures, colon cancer, post-anal and rectal surgery, and during pregnancy.

✔️ Dosage & Administration:
- Usual dose: 1 spoonful 1-3 times daily or as per doctor's advice.
- Adults and children over 12 years: 1 spoonful with water 2 times daily or as per doctor's advice.
- Children 6 to 12 years: ½ to 1 spoonful with water depending on age and size, in the morning and at bedtime or as per doctor's advice.
- Children below 6 years: Not recommended except as directed by the physician.
An additional glass of water is helpful after taking this gel.
✔️ Administration:
- Take one spoonful with the provided spoon.
- Put this husk into an empty glass.
- Fill the glass with water (150 ml or 2/3 of the glass), stir, and drink immediately.
✔️ Interaction:
No significant interaction has been observed with other medicines.
✔️ Contraindications:
Contraindicated in patients with gastrointestinal tract obstruction or threatening obstruction of the bowel.
✔️ Side Effects:
Common side effects include flatulence, abdominal distension, and gastrointestinal obstruction.
✔️ Storage Conditions:
Store in a cool and dry place. Keep out of reach of children.
