Clonazepam 1 mg Tablet
Arotril 1 contains clonazepam, which belongs to the benzodiazepine class. It enhances the activity of GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid) in the brain. This reduces excessive nerve signaling and helps control abnormal electrical activity associated with seizures while producing a calming effect in anxiety and panic disorders.

Arotril 1 is a prescription medicine containing clonazepam, a benzodiazepine used to manage certain seizure disorders and panic or anxiety disorders. It works by enhancing the activity of GABA, a chemical messenger that reduces excessive nerve activity in the brain and produces a calming effect.
Arotril 1 can be taken with or without food. Take it exactly as prescribed and preferably at the same time each day. Clonazepam can cause physical dependence and has a significant habit-forming potential, so it should only be used for the prescribed dose and duration. Do not stop treatment suddenly, as abrupt discontinuation can cause withdrawal symptoms and may worsen seizures.
Epilepsy – Adults:
Treatment is generally started at a low dose and gradually increased according to seizure control and tolerance. The maintenance dose is commonly divided throughout the day. The maximum dose should be determined by the treating physician.
Panic Disorder – Adults:
Treatment is usually initiated with a low dose and gradually adjusted according to response. The dose should be individualized by the doctor.
Children:
Pediatric dosing depends on age, body weight, seizure type, and clinical response. Clonazepam should only be given to children under specialist medical supervision.
Liver impairment:
Dose adjustment may be necessary in patients with liver problems.
Arotril 1 may have stronger sedative effects when taken with alcohol, opioids, sleeping medicines, other benzodiazepines, sedatives, certain antidepressants, antipsychotics, barbiturates, or other medicines that depress the central nervous system.
Clonazepam may also interact with certain anti-seizure medicines, including phenytoin. Tell your doctor about all prescription medicines, over-the-counter medicines, and supplements you are taking before starting treatment.
Arotril 1 should not be used in people with a known allergy to clonazepam or other benzodiazepines. It is also contraindicated in certain conditions such as acute narrow-angle glaucoma and severe respiratory insufficiency.
Clonazepam should only be used during pregnancy when the potential benefit clearly outweighs the potential risks. Use near delivery may cause breathing difficulties, low muscle tone, feeding problems, or withdrawal symptoms in the newborn.
Clonazepam can pass into breast milk and may affect a breastfed infant. Breastfeeding should be discussed with a doctor before treatment is started or continued.
Use Arotril 1 cautiously in people with chronic respiratory disease, liver or kidney impairment, porphyria, or in older adults. Clonazepam can cause significant sedation and respiratory depression, particularly when combined with other medicines that suppress the central nervous system.
Long-term or repeated use can lead to tolerance, physical dependence, and withdrawal symptoms. Patients should therefore be regularly monitored by their doctor.
