Adults:
IV: 30 mg single dose or every 6 hours (max 120 mg/day)
IM: 60 mg single dose or 30 mg every 6 hours (max 120 mg/day)
Oral: 20 mg once after IV/IM therapy, then 10 mg every 4–6 hours (max 40 mg/day)
⏱ Treatment duration must not exceed 5 days.
Elderly or renal-impaired patients:
IV/IM: 15 mg single dose or every 6 hours (max 60 mg/day)
Oral: 10 mg once after IV/IM therapy, then 10 mg every 4–6 hours (max 40 mg/day)
Children (2–16 years):
0.5 mg/kg IV/IM every 6 hours (max 15 mg/dose; duration ≤ 5 days)
✔️ Side Effects:
Very common (>10%): Headache, nausea, stomach pain, dyspepsia
Common (1–10%): Drowsiness, dizziness, diarrhea, edema, rash, hypertension
Rare (<1%): GI bleeding, allergic reactions, blurred vision, liver dysfunction
💀 Potentially fatal: Severe anaphylaxis, skin reactions, heart attack, stroke, or GI bleeding
✔️ Drug Interactions
- May increase risk of renal toxicity with ACE inhibitors, ARBs, or diuretics
- Warfarin, aspirin, or other NSAIDs → ↑ risk of GI bleeding
- Methotrexate and lithium → ↑ toxicity
- Probenecid → ↑ Ketorolac levels
- Fluoxetine or alprazolam → possible hallucinations

⚠️ Use with caution in elderly patients, those with liver disease, heart failure, or mild renal impairment.
Monitor renal function during prolonged use.
✔️ Pregnancy & Lactation
Category C (D in 3rd trimester) — may cause premature closure of the fetal ductus arteriosus.
✔️ Contraindications
❌ Hypersensitivity to NSAIDs or aspirin
❌ Asthma, nasal polyps, or bronchospasm
❌ Peptic ulcer, GI bleeding, renal impairment, or coagulation disorders
❌ Pregnancy (especially 3rd trimester) or lactation
❌ Perioperative use in high bleeding risk or dehydration
