✔️ Dosage & Administration

GERD, Erosive Esophagitis (≥12 yrs): 40 mg once daily for 4 weeks

Maintenance (≥12 yrs): 20 mg once daily

NSAID-related ulcer prevention (adults): 20 mg daily for 4–8 weeks

H. pylori eradication (with Amoxicillin & Clarithromycin): 20 mg twice daily for 7 days

Zollinger-Ellison syndrome: 40–80 mg twice daily

Children 1–11 years: Weight-based dosing (10–20 mg once daily)
Not recommended under 1 year of age.

✔️ Administration Guidance

• Swallow whole with water. Do not crush or chew.
• May be dispersed in ½ glass of non-carbonated water and taken immediately (within 30 minutes).
• Rinse and drink the remaining suspension to ensure full dose.
• Do not use mineral water or any other liquid.

✔️ Interaction

• Metabolized primarily by CYP2C19 and CYP3A4
• May raise diazepam levels (CYP2C19 substrate)
• Reduced absorption of drugs like ketoconazole, iron salts, and digoxin due to increased gastric pH
• No significant interaction with phenytoin, warfarin, oral contraceptives, quinidine, clarithromycin, or amoxicillin

✔️ Contraindications

• Known hypersensitivity to esomeprazole or other components of the formulation
  Side effects are similar in short- and long-term usage.

Caution in severe liver or kidney impairment
