✔️ How Vilanterol Trifenatate + Fluticasone Furoate works

Bihale 200 Rotacap  is a combination of fluticasone furoate and vilanterol. Vilanterol works by relaxing air passages in the lungs, making breathing easier. Fluticasone furoate works by blocking the production of certain chemicals in the body that cause inflammation (redness and swelling) and allergies. 

✔️ Side Effects of Bihale 200 Rotacap

• COPD (≥3%): Nasopharyngitis, upper respiratory infections, headache, oral candidiasis, pneumonia, bronchitis, back pain, and hypertension.
• Asthma (≥2%): Nasopharyngitis, headache, oral candidiasis, bronchitis, sinusitis, dysphonia, and cough

✔️ Pharmacology:

• Vilanterol Trifenatate: A selective, long-acting beta-2 agonist (LABA) that relaxes bronchial smooth muscle by increasing intracellular cyclic AMP, inhibiting hypersensitivity mediator release.
• Fluticasone Furoate: A corticosteroid with anti-inflammatory activity, acting on multiple inflammatory cells and mediators to manage COPD and asthma.

✔️ Special Populations: Bihale Inhalation Capsule

• Children & Adolescents: Not indicated for those under 18 years.
• Hepatic Impairment: Monitor for systemic corticosteroid effects due to increased fluticasone exposure in moderate to severe cases.

✔️ Word of Advice: Bihale Inhalation Capsule

• Provides long-term (maintenance) treatment of asthma by reducing lung inflammation and helping prevent disease progression.
• It is not for acute asthma attacks. Use a rescue inhaler for immediate relief from sudden breathing difficulties.
• Ensure proper technique when using metered-dose inhalers (MDIs) and dry powder inhalers (DPIs) to maximize medication effectiveness and minimize side effects.
• Gargle with warm water after each inhalation to help prevent fungal infections (oral thrush) in the mouth and throat.
• Use at the same time every day to maintain steady protection against asthma attacks.
• Avoid opening and closing the inhaler cover unnecessarily, as it may release medication and reduce effectiveness.
• Do not exhale into the mouthpiece to prevent contamination and ensure proper dosing.
• Minimal amounts of Fluticasone Furoate + Vilanterol are absorbed into the bloodstream, so systemic side effects (like weight gain) are rare.

✔️ Dosage & Administration of Bihale 200 Rotacap

• Route: Oral inhalation only (do not swallow).
• Device Use: Insert capsule into inhaler only when ready to use. Rinse mouth post-inhalation to prevent oropharyngeal candidiasis.
• Dosage:
  • COPD: 1 inhalation of 25/100 mcg once daily.
  • Asthma: 1 inhalation of 25/100 mcg or 25/200 mcg once daily.

✔️ Drug Interactions: Bihale Inhalation Capsule
