Rivastigmine treats mild to moderate dementia caused by Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases. It contains 'Rivastigmine', an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor. Rivastigmine increases acetylcholine (a brain chemical) levels in the central nervous system, involved in transmitting nerve signals that play an essential role in memory. Rivastigmine is not a cure for Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases, but it improves memory, thinking, awareness, and the ability to perform daily functions.

✔️ Interaction

Drug-Drug Interaction: Demelon 4.5 may interact with pain killers (aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen), cough and cold medicines (Benadryl), vomiting medicine (metoclopramide), drugs treating frequent urination (oxybutynin, tolterodine), and high blood pressure medicine (atenolol).

Drug-Food Interaction: Do not consume alcohol while taking Demelon 4.5, as it could lead to increased dizziness and drowsiness.

Drug-Disease Interaction: Before using Demelon 4.5, let your doctor know if you have any liver or kidney diseases, breathing problems (asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)), stomach/intestinal problems (ulcers, bleeding), heart diseases (sick sinus syndrome and other conduction disorders), fainting, fits, urination problems, and enlarged prostate.

Before starting Rivastigmine, inform your doctor about all other medicines, herbal products, or dietary supplements you are currently using. Provide a complete medical history, especially if you have or have had liver or kidney disease, respiratory conditions such as asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), gastrointestinal disorders including ulcers or gastrointestinal bleeding, or cardiac conditions such as sick sinus syndrome and other conduction abnormalities.

Additionally, inform your doctor if you have experienced fainting episodes, seizures, urinary retention, or an enlarged prostate. Medical advice is essential if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.

Alcohol consumption should be avoided during treatment, as it may increase the risk of side effects. Rivastigmine can cause dizziness, drowsiness, or sleepiness; therefore, patients should avoid driving or operating heavy machinery until they know how the medicine affects them.

This medicine is not recommended for use in children under 18 years of age, as its safety and efficacy in this age group have not been established.
