• Clindamycin stops the growth and multiplication of acne-causing bacteria on the skin.
• Tretinoin prevents the clogging of skin pores with sebum and dead skin cells, helping the skin renew itself more quickly.

✔️ Side Effects of Dalatic Plus Gel

Common side effects include dryness, erythema (skin redness), scaling, burning sensation, skin exfoliation

✔️ Quick Suggestions:

• Apply a thin layer onto clean, dry, unbroken skin affected by acne.
• Clean the area with water and non-medicated soap, then let it dry for 20-30 minutes before application.
• It may cause minor burning, stinging, or irritation. Inform your doctor if these persist.
• Avoid contact with eyes, nose, or mouth; rinse with water if accidental contact occurs.
• Avoid exposure to sunlight; use sun protection measures.
• Inform your doctor if pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding.

✔️ How to manage Side Effects

• For skin rash: Avoid hot showers, do not scratch the affected area, use protective clothing outdoors, and consult your doctor for a suitable moisturizer.
• For sensitivity to sunlight: Avoid direct sunlight, use protective clothing, and consult your doctor about using sunscreen.

✔️ Indications:

Clindamycin with Tretinoin gel is indicated for the topical treatment of acne vulgaris.

✔️ Pharmacology

This is a combination of lincosamide antibiotic Clindamycin phosphate and retinoid Tretinoin. Clindamycin binds with the 50s ribosomal subunit of susceptible bacteria and prevents the elongation of the peptide chain by interfering with the peptidyl transfer, thereby suppressing bacterial protein synthesis. Clindamycin inhibits the activity of Propionibacterium acne and reduces the occurrence of acne. Tretinoin decreases the cohesiveness of follicular epithelial cells and increases the turnover thereby bringing the comedones out.

✔️ Dosage & Administration

Adult Dose:

• Condition: Acne Vulgaris
• Administration: Apply a pea-sized amount of gel once daily, preferably at bedtime.
• Duration: Continue treatment for 12 weeks.

Child Dose:

• Age <12 years: Safety and efficacy not established.
• Age >12 years: Apply a pea-sized amount of gel once daily, preferably at bedtime.

Safety and effectiveness in children below 12 years of age have not been established.

✔️ Interaction

Concomitant use of other potentially irritating topical products (medicated or abrasive soaps and cleansers, soaps and cosmetics that have a strong drying effect, products with high concentrations of alcohol, astringents, spices, or lime) should be approached with caution. While using concomitantly with Erythromycin, the activity of both Clindamycin and Erythromycin is decreased. So, Clindamycin should not be used with Erythromycin concomitantly. While using concomitantly with neuromuscular medicine, the activity of the neuromuscular medicine is increased. So, care should be taken during these concomitant uses.

✔️ Contraindications

Clindamycin and Tretinoin should not be administered to individuals who are hypersensitive to Clindamycin or Tretinoin or any other component of the Gel.

✔️ Pregnancy & Lactation

It is not known whether Clindamycin or Tretinoin is excreted in human milk. Exercise special caution while applying Clindamycin or Tretinoin to a nursing mother.

✔️ Precautions & Warnings

Do not use Clindamycin with Tretinoin to treat infections of the eyes, nose, ear, lips, or on cuts or burns. Avoid direct sunlight on the treated area after application.

✔️ Storage:

Keep away from direct sunlight and moisture, Store below 30°C temperature in a cool and dry place. Keep the medicine out of reach of children.
