✔️ Indications:

Zesup is indicated for the treatment of zinc deficiency and conditions where there is a loss of zinc. Zinc deficiency can result from an inadequate diet or malabsorption issues. Excessive zinc loss can occur due to trauma, burns, diarrhea, and protein-losing conditions. Zinc supplementation should continue until clinical improvement is observed and may need to be prolonged in cases of severe malabsorption, metabolic diseases, or persistent zinc-losing conditions.

✔️ Pharmacology

Zinc sulfate monohydrate is an essential trace element involved in numerous enzymatic systems within the body. Zinc is crucial for normal growth, health, sexual maturation, reproduction, adaptation to dark vision, olfactory and gustatory function, insulin storage and release, and various immune defenses. Zinc deficiency can lead to impaired immune function, delayed wound healing, reduced taste and smell, increased susceptibility to infections, poor night vision, higher risk of abortion, alopecia, mental lethargy, skin changes, and underdeveloped reproductive organs.

✔️ Dosage & Administration of Zesup Syrup

• Children under 10 kg: 5 ml (1 teaspoon) twice daily after meals.
• Children between 10-30 kg: 10 ml (2 teaspoons) 1-3 times daily after meals.
• Adults and children over 30 kg: 20 ml (4 teaspoons) 1-3 times daily after meals.

*For maximum effectiveness, take this medication at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals. If stomach upset occurs, take it with a meal.

✔️ Interaction

• Tetracycline: Concurrent use with zinc may reduce the absorption of both tetracycline and zinc.
• Quinolone drugs: Concurrent administration with zinc may also decrease the absorption of both.
• Penicillamine: Concurrent intake of zinc may reduce zinc absorption.

✔️ Contraindications

Do not use in individuals hypersensitive to any component of this preparation.

✔️ Pregnancy & Lactation

The safety of this product during pregnancy has not been established. Zinc crosses the placenta and is present in breast milk.

✔️ Precautions & Warnings

• In cases of acute renal failure, zinc may accumulate in the body, necessitating dose adjustment.
• Food may decrease the absorption of zinc; therefore, it is recommended to take zinc supplements at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals.
