Biotin 1 | 1000mcg Tablet

✔️ The dosage of biotin varies depending on the disease state and age group. 

Adults: 

• Usually 1-3 tablets per day or as directed by a doctor.

Children: 

• Biotin deficiency affects children from 1 week to 2 years old and often presents with seizures, hypotonia, developmental delay, ataxia, hyperventilation, and coma. In this case, 510 tablets per day, are crushed and mixed with water or any type of juice or follow the doctor's instructions.

Recommended meal allowance: 

• Infant 
   0-6 months: 5 micrograms/day 
   7-12 months: 6 micrograms/day
• Children 
   1-3 years: 8 micrograms/day 
   4-8 years: 12 micrograms/day
• Males and females 
   14-18 years old: 25 micrograms/day 
   ≥19 years old: 30 micrograms/day
• pregnancy: 30 micrograms/day
• lactation period: 35 micrograms/day

✔️ Side Effects | Biotin 1

It is well tolerated at the recommended dose. In people who received 200 mg orally or 20 mg intravenously daily, no biotin toxicity was reported.

✔️ Interaction

There is evidence that anticonvulsants reduce the plasma levels of biotin. The use of antibiotics can reduce the contribution of biotin to the body produced by the colonic microbiota. Eating too much raw protein will interfere with the absorption of biotin.

✔️ Contraindications

In individuals who have a history of hypersensitivity to any of the components, this medication is not recommended.

✔️ Pregnancy & Lactation

Sufficient clinical data is not available to use in pregnant women and lactating mothers.

✔️ Precautions & Warnings

• Children: Biotin is LIKELY SAFE when taken by mouth and appropriately.
• An inherited condition in which the body cannot process biotin (biotinidase deficiency): People with this condition might need extra biotin.
• Kidney dialysis: People receiving kidney dialysis may need extra biotin. Check with your healthcare provider.
• Pregnancy and breast-feeding: Biotin is LIKELY SAFE when used in recommended amounts during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
