Hypromellose and Carboxymethylcellulose Sodium are polymers in nature, forming a clear and colorless aqueous solution. This medication lubricates the eye surface similarly to natural tears, providing relief from dryness and pain due to reduced or abnormal tear production. Hypromellose stabilizes and thickens the precorneal tear film, prolonging tear film breakup time, promoting corneal wetting, and providing lubrication and protection to the eye.
