✔️ Dosage & Administration of Tezo 200

• ABSSSI Treatment:
  • Intravenous: 200 mg once daily for 6 days (1-hour infusion).
  • Oral: 200 mg once daily for 6 days.

No dose adjustment is required when switching between oral and intravenous administration. If a dose is missed, it should be taken as soon as possible, provided it is at least 8 hours before the next dose. If less than 8 hours remain, the missed dose should be skipped, and the regular schedule resumed.

Use only as prescribed by a registered physician.

✔️ Common side effects (occurring in >2% of cases) include:

• Nausea
• Headache
• Diarrhea
• Vomiting
• Dizziness

✔️ Interaction

Oral administration of Tezo may increase plasma levels of drugs that are substrates of Breast Cancer Resistance Protein (BCRP). Monitor for adverse effects if coadministration cannot be avoided.

✔️ Contraindications

There are no known contraindications for Tezo.

Safety and efficacy in patients under 18 years of age have not been established.

✔️ Geriatric Use: Tezo 200

Limited data are available for patients aged 65 and older. No significant differences in pharmacokinetics have been noted compared to younger adults.

✔️ Overdose Effects

In case of overdose, discontinue Tezo and provide general supportive care. Hemodialysis does not effectively remove tedizolid from systemic circulation.

✔️ Pregnancy & Lactation

• Pregnancy: Category C. Limited human data are available. Use during pregnancy only if the potential benefit outweighs the potential risk to the fetus.
• Lactation: Tedizolid has been found in the breast milk of rats, but its presence in human milk is unknown. Use caution when administering to breastfeeding women.

✔️ Precautions & Warnings

• Neutropenia: Tezo's safety and efficacy in patients with neutropenia (neutrophil count <1000 cells/mm³) have not been thoroughly evaluated. Its effectiveness may be reduced in such patients; consider alternative treatments.
• Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea: Monitor for signs of diarrhea and evaluate if necessary.

✔️ Storage Conditions

Store tablets and injection vials at 20°C to 25°C. Keep out of reach of children.
