Prepose Vaginal Cream

✔️ Prepose Cream is used for:

• Managing moderate to severe vasomotor symptoms due to estrogen deficiency.
• Preventing and treating osteoporosis linked to estrogen deficiency.
• Addressing atrophic vaginitis and kraurosis vulvae.
• Treating female hypoestrogenism.
• Relieving moderate to severe dyspareunia (pain during intercourse).

✔️ Dosage of Prepose Cream

• Atrophic Vaginitis and Kraurosis Vulvae: Apply 0.5–2 g intravaginally daily for 21 days, followed by a 7-day break. Adjust dosage as needed.
• Moderate to Severe Dyspareunia: Use 0.5 g intravaginally twice weekly or daily for 21 days with a 7-day break.

✔️ Administration of Prepose Cream

1. Remove the cap from the tube.
2. Attach the applicator to the tube nozzle.
3. Squeeze the tube gently to fill the applicator with the prescribed dose.
4. Detach the applicator and insert it into the vaginal opening.
5. Press the plunger to release the medication.
6. Clean the applicator with mild soap and warm water.

✔️ Overdose of Prepose Cream

Symptoms of overdose include nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, breast tenderness, and fatigue. Management involves discontinuing therapy and providing symptomatic care.

✔️ Interactions

• Rifampin may reduce estrogen effectiveness by enhancing its metabolism.

✔️ Contraindications

• Known or suspected breast cancer or estrogen-dependent tumors.
• Pregnancy or undiagnosed abnormal genital bleeding.
• Active thrombophlebitis or thromboembolic disorders.
• Hypersensitivity to the cream's components.

✔️ Pregnancy & Lactation

• Estrogen is contraindicated during pregnancy due to risks of congenital defects and complications.
• Caution is advised when used by nursing mothers as estrogens may be excreted in breast milk.

✔️ Precautions

• Women with a uterus should use estrogen with a progestogen to reduce the risk of endometrial cancer.
• Regular monitoring, including breast exams and Pap smears, is recommended.
• Use cautiously in patients with liver impairment or a history of thromboembolic events.
