✔️ Pharmacology

• Calcium:
  Essential for numerous physiological functions, including bone formation, muscle contraction, nerve function, and blood clotting. Even short-term deficiencies can disrupt vital processes.
• Vitamin C:
  A powerful antioxidant and reducing agent that is essential in the diet (humans cannot synthesize it). It plays a significant role in stress response, infection defense, and promoting overall immune health.

✔️ Side Effects

• Mild gastrointestinal disturbances: Such as bloating or diarrhea.
• Urinary tract calculi: Prolonged high-dose usage may lead to stone formation in predisposed individuals.

✔️ Dosage and Administration

1. Children (3 to 7 years): Half (½) effervescent tablet daily.
2. Adults and children (above 7 years): One effervescent tablet daily.
3. Instructions: Dissolve the tablet in a glass of water and consume immediately.

Note: Follow the dosage as prescribed by a registered physician.

• Medications like digoxin, tetracycline, furosemide, and pentagastrin.
• Others such as aminophylline, bleomycin, erythromycin, lactobionate, nitrofurantoin, chloramphenicol, and conjugated estrogens.

✔️ Sante should not be used in the following cases:

1. Hypercalcemia: Seen in conditions like hyperparathyroidism, vitamin D overdose, or certain tumors (e.g., plasmacytoma, bone metastases).
2. Severe hypercalciuria: Excessive calcium excretion in the urine.
3. Severe renal failure.
4. Other conditions: Hyperoxaluria, glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency, or iron overload.

Note: Larger doses may lead to gastrointestinal upset.

✔️ Pregnancy and Lactation

• Calcium: Safe during pregnancy, with no evidence of teratogenic risks. While some calcium is excreted in breast milk, the amount is insufficient to harm the infant.
• Vitamin C: Safe to use during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

✔️ Precautions and Warnings

1. Patients with mild hypercalciuria (above 300 mg in 24 hours), mild to moderate kidney impairment, or a history of urinary stones should monitor calcium excretion. Dosage adjustments may be necessary.
2. Avoid high doses of vitamin D or its derivatives unless explicitly recommended during treatment.
3. Since citrate salts can increase aluminum absorption, use with caution in patients with severe kidney impairment, especially those on aluminum-containing medications.
4. Diabetic patients: Consider the sugar content in the formulation.
