Fungal Infections

✔️ Side Effects of Luliter-M Cream

• Local: Redness, itching, burning, or irritation at the application site.
• Rare: Allergic reactions such as rash, hives, difficulty breathing, or swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat.

✔️ Quick Suggestions:

• Regularly change your socks and wash your feet. Avoid shoes that make your feet sweaty and hot.
• In wet places such as changing rooms and gym showers, don’t walk barefoot to prevent fungal infections.
• Do not scratch the affected area of the skin as it can spread the infection to other body parts.
• Avoid sharing towels, combs, bedsheets, shoes, or socks with others.
• Wash your bed sheets and towels regularly.
• Before applying Luliter-M Cream, clean and dry the affected area.
• Avoid contact with Luliter-M Cream with the nose, mouth, or eyes. In case Luliter-M Cream comes in contact with these areas accidentally, rinse with water thoroughly.

✔️ Pharmacology:

Luliconazole:

• Mechanism of Action: Luliconazole is an imidazole antifungal that inhibits the enzyme lanosterol 14α-demethylase. This inhibition results in a decrease in ergosterol synthesis, a vital component of the fungal cell membrane, leading to increased cellular permeability and cell death.
• Spectrum of Activity: Effective against a variety of dermatophytes, including Trichophyton rubrum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, and Epidermophyton floccosum.

Terbinafine Hydrochloride:

• Mechanism of Action: Terbinafine is an allylamine antifungal that inhibits squalene epoxidase, a key enzyme in the ergosterol synthesis pathway. This leads to an accumulation of squalene, which is toxic to fungal cells, and a deficiency of ergosterol, which is necessary for the cell membrane.
• Spectrum of Activity: Effective against a wide range of dermatophytes and some yeast species, including Candida albicans.

✔️ Dosage & Administration

• Luliconazole: Typically applied as a 1% cream once daily to the affected area and surrounding skin for 1 to 2 weeks, depending on the infection site.
• Terbinafine Hydrochloride: Commonly applied as a 1% cream once or twice daily to the affected area and surrounding skin for 1 to 2 weeks.

✔️ Directions for Use: Luliter-M Cream

Luliter-M Cream is only for external use. Take a small amount of Luliter-M Cream on the finger and apply it as a thin layer on the clean and dry affected area and surrounding skin. Avoid contact with Luliter-M Cream with the nose, mouth, or eyes. In case Luliter-M Cream comes in contact with these areas accidentally, rinse with water thoroughly. Wash your hands before and after using Luliter-M Cream if your hands are not in the affected area to prevent the spread of infection.

✔️ Contraindications

• Known hypersensitivity to luliconazole, terbinafine, or any other component of the formulation.

✔️ Pregnancy & Lactation:

• Pregnancy: There are no adequate and well-controlled studies of topical luliconazole or terbinafine in pregnant women. Use only if clearly needed and if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus.
• Lactation: It is not known whether luliconazole or terbinafine are excreted in human milk. Caution should be exercised when administered to a nursing woman.

• For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes, mouth, and mucous membranes.
• Do not apply to open wounds or damaged skin.
• If irritation or sensitization occurs, discontinue use and consult a physician.
