✔️ Mode of Action

Paracetamol acts by blocking pain signals and regulating body temperature through the central nervous system.

✔️ Missed Dose

If you forget a dose, take it as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose if it is nearly time for the next dose. Do not double the dose.

✔️ Common Side Effects

Generally, no common side effects are observed with proper usage.

✔️ Word of Advice:

• Take Aceta with food or milk to avoid stomach upset.
• Follow the prescribed dose and duration to avoid complications like stomach bleeding or kidney issues.
• Avoid taking indigestion remedies (antacids) within two hours of taking Aceta.
• Do not consume alcohol with Aceta, as it may increase stomach discomfort.
• Inform your doctor of any liver issues, as dosage adjustments may be necessary.
• Your doctor may monitor kidney and liver function with long-term use.

✔️ Aceta Suspension / Syrup (Liquid Form) for Mild to Moderate Pain and Fever

• Children 3 months to <1 year: 60 - 120 mg (½ - 1 measuring spoonful), given 3 to 4 times daily.
• Children 1 - 5 years: 1 - 2 measuring spoonfuls, given 3 to 4 times daily.
• Children 6 - 12 years: 2 - 4 measuring spoonfuls, given 3 to 4 times daily.
• For Post-Immunization Fever in Children (2 months): 60 mg (½ measuring spoonful).

✔️ Interaction

• Anticonvulsants (e.g., phenytoin) may reduce paracetamol effectiveness.
• Prolonged use may increase the effect of anticoagulants (e.g., warfarin).
• May interact with other medications affecting absorption or metabolism.

✔️ Contraindications

Do not use in cases of known hypersensitivity to paracetamol.

✔️ Precautions & Warnings

Special caution should be taken in patients with chronic alcohol use, G6PD deficiency, severe dehydration, and nutritional deficiencies. Renal and liver function should be monitored, particularly with long-term use.
