✔️ Quick Suggestions:

• Mirtaz 7.5 Tablet starts to work more quickly than other antidepressants.
• Avoid driving or operating dangerous machinery as it may decrease alertness.
• Avoid consuming alcohol when taking the Mirtaz 7.5 Tablet, as it may cause excessive drowsiness and calmness.
• If your doctor asks you to stop Mirtaz 7.5 Tablet, you should reduce the dose slowly over 4 weeks. You should not discontinue it abruptly.
• Notify your doctor immediately if you develop a sore throat or fever or stomatitis during treatment with Mirtaz 7.5 Tablet.
• Mirtaz 7.5 Tablet starts to work more quickly than other antidepressants.

✔️ Dosage & Administration

Adults:

• Starting dose: 15 mg/day (preferably in the evening or before sleep).
• Effective dose range: 15-45 mg/day.
• Dose adjustments: Increase if needed, up to a maximum of 45 mg/day, with changes at 1-2 week intervals.

Children: Not recommended.

Missed Dose:

• Take as soon as remembered unless it's near the next scheduled dose.
• Do not take a double dose to compensate for a missed one.

✔️ Side Effects

• Common: Dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, increased appetite, weight gain.
• Serious (Rare): Agranulocytosis (low white blood cell count), abnormal liver function tests.

✔️ Drug Interactions

⚠️ Avoid concomitant use with:

• Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOIs) (Risk of severe reactions).
• Serotonergic drugs (e.g., SSRIs, SNRIs, St. John’s Wort, tramadol) – Risk of serotonin syndrome.
• Carbamazepine, Phenytoin, Cimetidine (May affect drug metabolism).
• Alcohol & Diazepam (May increase sedation).

✔️ Contraindications

• Hypersensitivity to Mirtazapine or any excipients.
• Concurrent use with MAOIs or within 14 days of starting/stopping an MAOI.

✔️ Precautions & Warnings

• Monitor for worsening depression, suicidal thoughts, or unusual behavioral changes.
• May cause agranulocytosis—seek medical help if fever, sore throat, or signs of infection occur.
• Can impair judgment and motor skills due to sedation.
• May cause orthostatic hypotension (dizziness upon standing).
• Liver enzyme ALT (SGPT) elevation may occur.
