Each dry powder inhaler capsule contains:

• Indacaterol 110 mcg (as Indacaterol Maleate)

Common side effects include cardiovascular effects (e.g., tachycardia), blurred vision, urinary retention, dry mouth, cough, and hypersensitivity reactions. Serious side effects include paradoxical bronchospasm and worsening of glaucoma or urinary retention.

• This medicine is for inhalation only. The tablet should not be swallowed.

✔️ Indications:

Catium ES (Indacaterol + Glycopyrronium) is used for the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder (a lung disorder in which the flow of air to the lungs is blocked). 

✔️ Pharmacology

The inhaler combines Glycopyrronium (an anticholinergic) and Indacaterol (a long-acting beta-agonist, LABA). Indacaterol increases cyclic AMP in the smooth muscle, causing bronchodilation, while Glycopyrronium inhibits M3 receptors, leading to bronchodilation.

✔️ Dosage & Administration of Catium ES

• Adults: 1 inhalation once daily at the same time every day.
• Not for acute symptoms, asthma, or pediatric use.

Renal & Hepatic Impairment:

• Mild to moderate impairment: Use as recommended.
• Severe renal or hepatic impairment: Use caution only if the benefits outweigh the risks.

Avoid use with β-blockers, other anticholinergics, or sympathomimetics due to potential interactions.

✔️ Contraindications

• Hypersensitivity to any component.
• Severe hypersensitivity to milk proteins.
• Not to be used as monotherapy in asthma.
