Rinotin contains Levocetirizine Dihydrochloride, the active levo-isomer of cetirizine. It is a potent, well-tolerated, and non-sedating antihistamine with strong antiallergic properties. Levocetirizine has a two-fold higher affinity for H1 receptors than cetirizine, providing faster onset and longer-lasting relief from allergy symptoms. Its prolonged activity allows for once-daily dosing.

Levocetirizine Dihydrochloride

✔️ Dosage & Administration:

Adults and children (≥12 years): 5 mg once daily.

Children (6–11 years): 2.5 mg (½ tablet or 1 teaspoon of oral solution) once daily.

Children (6 months–5 years): 1.25 mg (½ teaspoon of oral solution) once daily.

Renal Impairment:

Mild (CrCl 50–80 ml/min): 2.5 mg once daily.

Moderate (CrCl 30–50 ml/min): 2.5 mg every other day.

Severe (CrCl 10–30 ml/min): 2.5 mg twice weekly (every 3–4 days).

End-stage renal disease (CrCl <10 ml/min) or hemodialysis patients: Not recommended.

Pregnancy Category B: Use only if clearly necessary, as adequate studies in pregnant women are lacking.

Since Levocetirizine is excreted in breast milk, it is not recommended for nursing mothers.

Use with caution in patients with epilepsy or those at risk of convulsions.
Dose adjustment may be required in renal impairment.
Exercise caution during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Known hypersensitivity to Levocetirizine, Cetirizine, Hydroxyzine, or any excipients.

Severe renal impairment (CrCl <10 ml/min).
