✔️ Pharmacology

Proviten DX contains nine water-soluble and three fat-soluble vitamins formulated in a sterile, lyophilized powder. The fat-soluble vitamins are stabilized using mixed micelles to ensure enhanced solubility. Upon reconstitution, the solution is designed for intravenous injection or infusion to restore essential micronutrients during times of high metabolic demand or nutritional deficiency.

✔️ Dosage & Administration

👨‍⚕️ Adults & Children (≥11 years):

1 vial per day, reconstituted with 5 mL of sterile Water for Injection, 0.9% NaCl, or 5% Glucose

Administration options:

Slow IV Injection: Over a minimum of 10 minutes

IV Infusion: Dilute further and infuse slowly as part of parenteral nutrition
🕒 Use immediately after reconstitution or within 24 hours if stored at 2–8°C

✔️ Drug Interactions

Folic acid may accelerate the metabolism of antiepileptics (e.g., phenytoin, phenobarbital)

Pyridoxine may reduce levodopa effectiveness

Ascorbic acid and riboflavin can inactivate bleomycin

Monitor for enhanced response to α1-acid glycoprotein-bound drugs (e.g., propranolol, quinidine)

✔️ Contraindications

• Known hypersensitivity to any ingredient
• Pre-existing hypervitaminosis
• Thiamine intolerance
• Severe hepatic impairment or hyperparathyroidism

✔️ Use in Pregnancy & Lactation

Pregnancy Category: Not assigned – Use only if needed

Not recommended during lactation due to a lack of safety data 

✔️ Precautions & Warnings

• Risk of anaphylaxis in thiamine-sensitive individuals
• Monitor liver function if administered to jaundiced or cholestatic patients
• Monitor fat-soluble vitamin levels in renal impairment
• Allergic signs (e.g., sneezing, asthma) may precede severe reactions

✔️ Storage Instructions

Before reconstitution: Store below 25°C, protect from light, do not freeze

After reconstitution: Store at 2–8°C, use within 24 hours
