✔️ Side Effects

• Burning, stinging, or tingling sensation
• Redness (erythema)
• Swelling (edema)
• Rash or eczema
• Itching (pruritus)

These effects are usually mild and short-lived.

✔️ The quantity of Permon® (Permethrin) Lotion required depends on the patient’s age:

Dosage & Duration of Treatment

• Adults and children above 12 years: One full tube
• Children 6–12 years: Up to half a tube
• Children 1–5 years: Up to one-quarter of a tube
• Infants 2 months–1 year: Up to one-eighth of a tube
• Infants below 2 months: Dosage has not been established

Use only as advised by a registered physician.

Method of Administration

Before applying Permon Lotion, ensure the skin is clean, dry, and cool.

Avoid taking a hot bath or shower before application.

For adults and children over 2 years

Apply the lotion evenly over the entire body from the neck down.

Gently rub into the skin until fully absorbed.

Pay special attention to areas such as between fingers and toes, under fingernails, and soles of the feet.

For infants under 2 years

Apply to the face, scalp, neck, and ears, avoiding the area around the eyes and mouth.

Leave the lotion on the skin for at least 8 hours, then wash off thoroughly.

If any treated area is washed during this period (e.g., handwashing), reapply the lotion to that area.

A second application may be required after 7 days, if recommended by a doctor

✔️ Drug Interactions

Topical corticosteroids used to manage eczema-like skin reactions should be discontinued before starting permethrin treatment, as corticosteroids may suppress the immune response and worsen scabies infestation.

✔️ Contraindications

Permethrin should not be used in individuals with a known hypersensitivity to permethrin or other pyrethroid compounds.
Healthcare providers who frequently apply permethrin are advised to wear gloves to prevent skin irritation.

✔️ Pregnancy & Lactation

Due to limited data, permethrin should be used during pregnancy only under medical supervision.

It is not known whether permethrin passes into breast milk; therefore, use in breastfeeding mothers is not recommended unless advised by a doctor.

✔️ Precautions & Warnings

Scabies itself may cause itching, redness, and swelling, which can temporarily worsen after treatment.

Avoid contact with the eyes. If accidental exposure occurs, rinse immediately with plenty of water.

Store in a cool, dry place, protected from light.
Keep out of reach of children.
