✔️ Indication of Unigal HC Cream

Miconazole, a substituted imidazole from the azole family, is effective in treating superficial candidiasis, dermatophytosis, pityriasis versicolor, seborrheic dermatitis, and skin infections caused by Aspergillus spp., Cryptococcus neoformans, and Pseudalescheria boydii. It is also active against certain Gram-positive bacteria, such as Staphylococci and Streptococci.

Hydrocortisone, a synthetic glucocorticoid, is used for skin injuries like inflammation. It also has antipruritic, antifungal, and vasoconstrictive effects.

• Miconazole interferes with ergosterol synthesis, altering the permeability of fungal cell membranes and ultimately killing the fungi.
• Hydrocortisone is absorbed into skin cells, where it blocks the release of inflammatory chemicals, reducing redness and swelling.

✔️ Directions for Use:

Apply a thin layer to the affected area 2 to 4 times daily for 1 to 2 weeks. Rub gently until the cream is fully absorbed into the skin. Continue treatment for at least one week after all signs and symptoms have disappeared. The same dosage applies to adults and children.
Use only as prescribed by a registered physician.

✔️ Drug Interactions

• The activity of miconazole may be antagonized by amphotericin.

• Not suitable for individuals allergic to miconazole, hydrocortisone, or any components of the formulation.
• Avoid use during pregnancy or breastfeeding without a physician's advice.

• Rare cases of local sensitivity.
• Long-term use may suppress natural hormone production by the adrenal gland.

✔️ Pregnancy & Lactation

• High doses of corticosteroids during pregnancy in animals have been linked to abnormalities in fetal development.
• Extensive use of topical steroids during pregnancy should be avoided.
