Painliv Cream

✔️ Painliv Cream provides temporary relief from minor aches and pains in:

• Muscles and joints (e.g., backache, lumbago, strains, sprains, bruises).
• Arthritis or rheumatic pain.
• Pain in tendons and ligaments.

🔹 Use under medical supervision if pain persists beyond 7 days.

✔️ Mechanism of Action

Painliv Cream contains:

• Camphor:
  • Acts as a spasmolytic agent, reducing muscle contractions.
  • Reduces calcium influx in smooth muscles, preventing spasms.
  • Increases pain threshold, reducing pain perception.
• Menthol:
  • Produces a cooling and soothing effect by stimulating cold receptors.
  • Reduces pain sensation.
• Methyl Salicylate:
  • Converts into salicylic acid, inhibiting the cyclooxygenase (COX) enzyme.
  • Decreases prostaglandin synthesis, reducing pain and inflammation.

✔️ Dosage & Administration

For Adults & Children (2 years & older):

• Apply generously to the painful area.
• Massage gently until fully absorbed.
• Use 3 to 4 times daily.
• Discontinue if pain persists beyond 7 days.

For Children under 2 years:

• Not recommended due to lack of sufficient data.

✔️ Side Effects

• Skin irritation, redness, burning, itching.
• Allergic reactions in sensitive individuals.

✔️ ❌ Do NOT use Painliv Cream if you have:

• Bleeding disorders.
• Allergy to Salicylates or any ingredients.
• Broken or raw skin.

✔️ Drug Interactions

• Methyl Salicylate is absorbed systemically and may enhance Warfarin's action by affecting vitamin K metabolism or displacing Warfarin from protein-binding sites.
• Use with caution in patients taking anticoagulants.

✔️ Pregnancy & Lactation

• Use only if necessary during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
• Consult a physician before use.

✔️ Precautions & Warnings

• For external use only.
• Do not use it with heating pads or tight bandages.
• Avoid contact with eyes, mucous membranes, broken or irritated skin.
• If swallowed, induce vomiting and seek medical help immediately.
• Long-term excessive use may cause skin irritation.
• Avoid use in patients with impaired kidney or liver function.
