✔️ Common Side Effects of Fenaton 500

• Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea
• Indigestion, loss of appetite
• Headache, dizziness
• GI ulcers, bleeding, or perforation
• Liver enzyme elevations (<15%)
• Rare: renal failure, hematologic disorders (leukopenia, thrombocytopenia),
• convulsions (overdose)

✔️ Dosage & Administration | Fenaton 500

Adults: 250–500 mg orally, up to 3 times daily for 3–7 days. Maximum daily dose: 1.5 g.

Children (>6 months): 25 mg/kg daily in divided doses for up to 7 days.

Take Fenaton 500 exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not chew or crush the medicine. Your doctor will prescribe the right dose depending on your age, body weight, and disease condition.

✔️ Drug Interactions

• CYP2C9 inhibitors → may alter Fenaton’s safety/efficacy
• Methotrexate → increased toxicity risk
• ACE inhibitors or angiotensin II blockers → reduced BP response
• Aspirin → increased risk of serious GI events
• Diuretics → reduced natriuretic effect
• Lithium → increased plasma levels
• Warfarin → enhanced anticoagulant effect

✔️ Do not use if:

• Allergic to mefenamic acid, aspirin, or other NSAIDs
• History of inflammatory bowel disease, peptic ulcer, severe renal impairment, or severe heart failure
• Perioperative pain in CABG surgery
• Late pregnancy (3rd trimester) or breastfeeding

✔️ Pregnancy & Lactation

Category C: Use only if clearly needed

3rd trimester or near delivery: Category D → risk to fetus

Avoid during breastfeeding

✔️ Precautions & Warnings

Use with caution in:

• Cardiovascular disease or risk factors
• History of GI bleeding or ulcers
• Renal/hepatic impairment
• Anemia, hypertension, bronchospasm, SLE, fluid retention
• May impair the ability to drive or operate machinery
• Monitor: CBC, liver and kidney function, blood pressure during long-term therapy
• Avoid alcohol, as it may increase GI risk

✔️ Storage:

• Keep Fenaton 500 out of reach of children
• Store Fenaton 500 at room temperature
