- Adults (IBS): 300–600 mg per day, divided into three doses
- Adults (Chronic Gastritis): 300 mg per day in three divided doses
- Elderly: Use with caution
Administration: May be taken with or without food, ideally at the same time each day

Common adverse effects may include:
- Cardiac: Palpitations, increased heart rate, arrhythmia, slow heart rate
- Gastrointestinal: Dry mouth, constipation, nausea, epigastric pain, diarrhea
