Flucloxin contains Flucloxacillin, a penicillinase-resistant beta-lactam antibiotic with high activity against Gram-positive organisms. It works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to cell lysis and death.
Flucloxacillin effectively blocks the action of transpeptidase, a crucial enzyme in the final stage of peptidoglycan cross-linking, which provides strength and stability to the bacterial cell wall. Due to its unique acyl side chain, the drug resists destruction by penicillinase enzymes.

Oral Dosage:
Adults: 250 mg four times daily; up to 8 g/day in severe infections
Children 2–10 years: Half of the adult dose
Children under 2 years: One-fourth of the adult dose
