✔️ Dinogest 2: Most side effects occur within the first few months of treatment and tend to decrease over time.

• Common side effects:
  • Headache (9%)
  • Breast tenderness (5.4%)
  • Depressed mood (5.1%)
  • Acne (5.1%)
• Other possible side effects:
  • Nervous system: Migraine, irritability, mood changes
  • Cardiac: Palpitations, circulatory issues (uncommon)
  • Vascular: Low blood pressure (uncommon)
  • Gastrointestinal: Nausea, abdominal pain, bloating
  • Metabolic: Weight gain (3.6%)

✔️ Dosage & Administration

• Starting the medication: Treatment can begin on any day of the menstrual cycle.
• Recommended dose: 2 mg per day without interruption, taken at the same time daily with or without food.
• Missed doses: If a dose is missed, the patient should take only 2 mg as soon as they remember and continue with the next scheduled dose.
• Vomiting or diarrhea: If a tablet is not absorbed due to vomiting or diarrhea, a replacement 2 mg dose should be taken.
• Children: Not recommended for use before the onset of menstruation. The safety and effectiveness in adolescents (under 18 years) have not been well established.
• Elderly: Not intended for use in postmenopausal women.

✔️ Dinogest 2: Direction of Use:

Take Dinogest 2 in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush, or break it. Dinogest 2 may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

✔️ Drug Interactions

Dienogest is metabolized primarily by the CYP3A4 enzyme. Medications that induce or inhibit CYP3A4 can alter Dienogest levels in the body.

• CYP3A4 inhibitors (increase Dienogest levels):
  • Azole antifungals: Ketoconazole, Itraconazole, Fluconazole
  • Macrolide antibiotics: Erythromycin, Clarithromycin, Roxithromycin
  • Calcium channel blockers: Verapamil, Diltiazem
  • Protease inhibitors: Ritonavir, Saquinavir, Indinavir, Nelfinavir
  • Antidepressants: Nefazodone, Fluvoxamine, Fluoxetine
  • Cimetidine (used for stomach ulcers and reflux)

✔️ Dinogest should not be used in individuals with:

• Hypersensitivity to Dienogest or its ingredients
• Active venous thromboembolism (VTE)
• Cardiovascular diseases (heart attack, stroke, ischemic heart disease)
• Diabetes with vascular complications
• Severe liver disease or liver tumors
• Hormone-dependent cancers (e.g., breast cancer)
• Unexplained vaginal bleeding

✔️ Pregnancy & Lactation

• Pregnancy: While no harmful effects have been observed in animal studies or pregnant women, Dienogest should not be used during pregnancy, as endometriosis treatment is unnecessary during this period.
• Breastfeeding: Not recommended, as the drug may pass into breast milk. A decision should be made whether to discontinue breastfeeding or stop Dienogest treatment.

• Pregnancy prevention: Women should confirm they are not pregnant before starting Dinogest. If contraception is needed, nonhormonal methods (e.g., barrier methods) are recommended.
• Menstrual cycle changes: Most women experience irregular bleeding patterns during treatment.
• Liver disease: Contraindicated in individuals with current or past severe liver disease.
• Fertility concerns: Ovulation is usually suppressed while on Dinogest, but the drug is not a contraceptive.
