SRT 0.1% Vaginal Cream

✔️ SRT Cream is indicated for the treatment of estrogen deficiency in postmenopausal women. It is particularly effective for:

• Painful sexual intercourse (dyspareunia) is caused by vaginal dryness and thinning due to estrogen deficiency.
• Postmenopausal women (12 months after their last natural period) or have undergone surgical removal of ovaries (ovariectomy).

✔️ Each dose contains 0.5 mg Estriol.

Recommended Dosing:

• For vulvovaginal complaints:
  • Initially: 1 dose daily for 3 weeks.
  • Maintenance: 1 dose twice weekly.
• Pre-surgery preparation:
  • 1 dose daily for 2 weeks before surgery.
• Pap smear preparation:
  • 1 dose daily for 7 days.

✔️ Side Effects

Common Side Effects:

• Vaginal irritation or itching.
• Swelling or tenderness in the breasts.
• Increased vaginal discharge.
• Nausea.
• Fluid retention (e.g., swollen ankles or feet).

(Most side effects subside within a few weeks of treatment. Consult your doctor if symptoms persist or worsen.)

Serious Side Effects (HRT-related):

• Increased risk of endometrial and breast cancer with long-term use.
• Heart attack, stroke, and gallbladder disease.
• Skin issues (rashes, discoloration, or bleeding into the skin).
• Venous thromboembolism, deep vein thrombosis, or pulmonary embolism.

✔️ How to Apply SRT Cream:

1. Remove the cap and use its sharp point to open the tube.
2. Attach the applicator to the tube.
3. Squeeze the tube gently to fill the applicator to the marked ring.
4. Lie down and insert the applicator deep into the vagina. Push the plunger slowly to apply the cream.
5. After use, wash the applicator with warm, soapy water, rinse thoroughly, and let it dry.
6. Dispose of the applicator after finishing the tube.

✔️ Estriol cream may interact with:

• Anticoagulants.
• Corticosteroids.
• Succinylcholine.
• Theophyllines.
• Epilepsy medications.
• Antibiotics or antifungals.
• St. John’s Wort (may cause irregular bleeding).

✔️ Do not use SRT Cream if you:

• Have or have had breast, ovarian, or vaginal cancer.
• Have heart disease, stroke, angina, or blood clots (e.g., deep vein thrombosis or pulmonary embolism).
• Are pregnant or breastfeeding?
• Have unexplained vaginal bleeding or endometrial hyperplasia.
• Have liver disease, porphyria, or a blood clotting disorder.
• Are allergic to Estriol or other components of the cream.

✔️ Pregnancy & Lactation

• Pregnancy: Contraindicated.
• Lactation: Not recommended.

✔️ Precautions & Warnings

• Patients should be monitored regularly during HRT use.
• Discontinue use immediately if symptoms like jaundice, severe headache, sudden high blood pressure, or pregnancy occur.
• Not suitable for children.
