✔️ Pharmacology

Itopride Hydrochloride is a dopamine D₂-receptor antagonist and acetylcholinesterase inhibitor. By increasing acetylcholine levels, it:

• Enhances gastrointestinal peristalsis
• Increases lower esophageal sphincter pressure
• Stimulates gastric motility
• Accelerates gastric emptying
• Improves gastroduodenal coordination

✔️ Dosage & Administration

Adults: 50 mg orally, three times daily

To be taken before meals

Dose adjustment may be required based on age and clinical response

Elderly:
Elderly patients should be closely monitored due to increased susceptibility to adverse effects. Dose reduction or discontinuation may be necessary if side effects occur.

Pediatric Use:
Safety and efficacy have not been established. Not recommended for children and adolescents below 18 years.

Always take Dizmo 50 exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the right dose and duration for you depending on your age, body weight, and disease condition.

✔️ Use Itopride with caution when co-administered with anticholinergic drugs such as:

• Tiquizium bromide
• Scopolamine butyl bromide
• Timepidium bromide

Effect: Reduced gastrointestinal prokinetic action of Dizmo due to opposing pharmacological effects.

✔️ Contraindications

• Hypersensitivity to Itopride Hydrochloride or any excipients
• Conditions where increased GI motility is harmful, such as:
• Gastrointestinal hemorrhage
• Mechanical obstruction
• Gastrointestinal perforation

✔️ Pregnancy & Lactation

Pregnancy: Use only if the expected benefit outweighs potential risks

Lactation: Not recommended due to insufficient safety data in breastfeeding women

✔️ Precautions & Warnings

• Shock and anaphylactoid reactions: Discontinue immediately if hypotension, dyspnea, laryngeal edema, urticaria, pallor, or sweating occurs.
• Hepatic disorders: Elevated liver enzymes (AST, ALT, γ-GTP) and jaundice may occur. Discontinue if abnormalities are detected.
• Avoid long-term continuous use if no symptomatic improvement is observed.
• Tablets must be removed from press-through packaging before ingestion to avoid esophageal injury.

✔️ Storage:

Store below 30°C in a cool, dry place. Protect from light. Keep out of reach of children.
