✔️ Dosage & Administration | Napa One

Tablet (Immediate-Release):

• Adults: 1–2 tablets every 4–6 hours (max 4g/day or 8 tablets/day)
• Children (6–12 years): ½–1 tablet, 3–4 times daily (max 2.6g/day for long-term use)

Extended-Release Tablet:

• ≥12 years: 2 tablets every 6–8 hours (max 6 tablets/day); swallow whole
• Actizorb Technology Tablet (Fast-Acting):
• Adults & Children ≥12 years: 1–2 tablets every 4–6 hours (max 8 tablets/day)
• Children 7–11 years: ½–1 tablet every 4–6 hours (max 4 tablets/day)

Not recommended for children under 7 years

1. Children ≥2 years: Safe and effective for fever and pain when dosed correctly
2. Elderly: No significant difference in safety profile, but dose adjustment may be needed
3. Hepatic/Renal impairment: Use lower doses with longer intervals

✔️ Drug Interactions

Alcohol, barbiturates, tricyclic antidepressants, and anticonvulsants may reduce metabolism or enhance liver toxicity risk.

Oral contraceptives and enzyme-inducing drugs may lower therapeutic levels due to increased first-pass metabolism.

✔️ Contraindications

Known allergy or hypersensitivity to Paracetamol.

✔️ Side Effects

Generally well tolerated. Rare side effects include:

• Blood disorders (e.g., thrombocytopenia, leukopenia, agranulocytosis)
• Skin reactions, rashes
• Pancreatitis or hypersensitivity reactions in some cases

✔️ Pregnancy & Lactation

• Considered safe during pregnancy when used in recommended doses.
• Paracetamol is excreted into breast milk in minimal amounts and is generally considered safe while breastfeeding.

✔️ Overdose Management

• Overdose (>10 g in adults) can cause severe liver damage
• Early symptoms include nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and pallor
• Liver injury may progress to hepatic failure, encephalopathy, or death within days
• Immediate treatment with activated charcoal (within 1 hour) and N-acetylcysteine (preferably within 8 hours) is critical
• In remote areas, oral Methionine may be an alternative

✔️ Precautions

• Use cautiously in patients with liver or kidney impairment
• Do not exceed the recommended dosage, especially in patients with alcoholism, malnutrition, or dehydration
• Avoid concurrent use with other Paracetamol-containing products
• Discontinue immediately if any allergic reaction or anaphylaxis occurs
