✔️ Each tablet contains:

• Flupentixol 0.5 mg – an antipsychotic with anxiolytic and mild antidepressant effects
• Melitracen 10 mg – a tricyclic antidepressant with energizing and mood-stabilizing properties

✔️ Dosage & Administration

Adults:

• Common dose: 2 tablets daily, one in the morning and one at noon
• Severe cases: May increase morning dose to 2 tablets

Elderly patients:

• Usually 1 tablet in the morning

Maintenance therapy:

• Typically 1 tablet daily in the morning
• In cases of insomnia or acute restlessness, an additional sedative may be prescribed during initial treatment.

✔️ Overdose Management

Symptoms of overdose typically reflect melitracen toxicity, including anticholinergic effects. Less frequently, extrapyramidal symptoms may result from flupentixol.
Management includes:

• Immediate gastric lavage
• Activated charcoal administration
• Supportive care for cardiovascular and respiratory functions
• Avoid epinephrine (adrenaline)
• Diazepam may be used to control convulsions
• Biperiden may be used to manage extrapyramidal reactions

✔️ Side Effects

• Side effects are uncommon at recommended doses. Some individuals may experience:
• Restlessness
• Difficulty sleeping (insomnia)
• These effects are usually mild and transient.

• May enhance the sedative effects of alcohol, barbiturates, and CNS depressants
• Concurrent use with MAO inhibitors can cause hypertensive crises; avoid co-administration or use within 14 days of MAOIs
• May reduce the efficacy of antihypertensive drugs such as guanethidine
• May potentiate the action of adrenaline or noradrenaline

• Recent myocardial infarction recovery phase
• Cardiac conduction abnormalities (e.g., bundle-branch block)
• Untreated narrow-angle glaucoma
• Acute intoxication from alcohol, opioids, or barbiturates
• Use of MAO inhibitors within the past two weeks
• Not suitable for hyperactive or excitable patients due to its activating effects

• This medication is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding due to insufficient safety data. Use only if the potential benefit justifies the risk.
